Roger Heaton-Clarinet, Kreutzer Quartet (Peter Sheppard Skaerved, Mihailo Trandafilovski, Morgan Goff, Neil Heyde) (world Premiere)
On the 7th December 2011, the clarinetist Roger Heaton and the Kreutzer Quartet gave the world premiere of Mihailo Trandafilovski’s new quintet, at the hall for which it was concieved, Wilton’s Music Hall. This followed a packed workshop at the Royal Academy of Music, on the 29th November. The same forces will be recording the work in the new year. The work was rapturously received by a full house at Wilton’s.
This piece takes the glistering language of Trandaafilovski’s earlier Star Factory, premiered at the South LondOn Gallery in 2010, and delves deeper into the sensual, expressive veins of line, colour, and sonority that can be mined in the combination of virtuoso wind and string instruments.
